MECHATOK COLLAB DROP

Headlining this season is Mechatok, co-designing a look for the Weekday Festival Limited Edition.

We’re entering festival season with a drop made for dancing, moving, and losing yourself in the crowd. Front and center: a co-designed look with Mechatok, the Berlin-based producer who’s quietly shaping the sound of forward-thinking electronic music. Known for collaborations with Charli XCX, Bladee, and Ecco2k, his genre-blurring productions have redefined experimental pop and club music over the past decade.

Mechatok’s co-designed look is all about effortless, casual festival energy: a vintage-feel T-shirt paired with a matching heavy jersey sweatpants-and-hoodie set—perfect for moving through the crowd or just vibing in your own zone.

“I think of performing live more as a little party going on inside the crowd’s brain. You're in a room full of people, but the music is doing something very private to each person. I don't try to bridge that gap; I think that tension is the interesting part.” says Mechatok.

How does performing at festivals shape the way you think about the connection between artists and audience?

“For me it's a big change now. I'm playing the guitar live, and it's just my own music. Before, as a DJ, there's this distance between you and the room. Now it feels more direct. I really care about stage design too and love working on visuals. I want the audience to join my world.

When co-designing the look, how did you translate your musical sensibility into something visual and wearable?

“Imagery pops up in my head before I even have a sound. Everything needs to look good, like graphics connected to song titles and lyrics. And for me it’s the same instinct when it comes to clothing; it’s just different materials. The pieces all have my nightclub project’s name on them, ‘Natural Mind’, so all memories connected to that are immortalised with these clothes.”
