Second Generation Materials

We are always open to test new things and we are always looking for new ways to work in a more sustainable way. Second hand shopping is one of the best ways to deal with textile waste as clothes get an extended lifespan and we believe that second hand shopping also encourages and develops a recycling community which we want to support.

Today we have flea markets and an initiative called Re-Market at select stores throughout the year, but offering second hand shopping is not new to Weekday as it was part of the initial Weekday offer back in 2002, when we first opened for business.

Flea markets

Our first flea market was in Gothenburg in 2017. It was a huge success. Today we have monthly flea markets at select stores, where our friends and family sell their second-hand clothes.

Want to sell with us?

Drop off & collect:
Tuesday to Thursday 1pm – 6pm.
Saturday to Monday closed.

Bring the items you want to sell so we can look through your items piece by piece, deciding what to buy, and how much to price it for. The price is set at drop off, so you know what you can earn.

All items you bring will be available for resell for 3 weeks. Unsold garments can be collected thereafter, if not collected within 4 weeks Weekday reserves the right to mark down unsold items with a discount or send item(s) to be recycled, in collaboration with I:Collect. If two or more items are donated to I:Collect, you will receive 10% off voucher, which can be used at Weekday.

You earn 40% of the marked price (60% if items sells for more than 1500 SEK) or store credit which is 50% of marked price.

Money from your sold garments can be collected at any time in the Götgatan 21 store, up to 2 years.

Store Made

The majority of Weekday stores have a Store Made studio, where we create limited-edition screen-printed products. These studios are where our weekly Zeitgeist prints have been created by hand since 2011. We also loan out our studios, from time to time, to local artists and students to use for creative projects.

Re-Made

During the summer of 2019 we created our first Re-Made capsule collection in collaboration with H&M group’s The Laboratory, the internal innovation department that explores new business models. Re-Made is a project that works with responsible designs and sustainable thinking to minimize waste by working with unsold stock instead of creating new garments. It is our hope that by working with existing garments, when possible, we will reduce our overall environmental impact by lowering the need for new garments
